Associated with Rhine, on the border of Germany and France. Riesling is one of the most popular wine grape varieties, dry, crisp, refreshing, but also known as a dessert type, sweet wine. Riesling is famous for its’ cellaring potential. It can mature for up to 20 to 30 years. Its’ aroma is a bouquet of apple, lemon, lime, earthy minerals and marmalade. These can all be tasted if the balance of sugar and acid is in equilibrium.
You may stumble across the name Spдtlese, know that this is a late picking grape, and the wine is a sweet desert type. We suggest young, fresh Riesling from Cooler areas, and when it is time for dining, chose seafood. Sweet Riesling goes well with soft cheeses, fruit pies and fudge.
