Full, dark, rich and fruity wine. Numerous wine styles made from Shiraz ranging from dry to sticky. Flavours and aromas are also magnificent, you can taste blackberries, mulberries and plumb, chocolate, anise and pepper.
If Barrosa Shiraz can be heavy bodies, Shiraz from the Hunter Valley is much lighter. Shiraz blended with Cabernet Savignon gives a perfect balance. Because of Shiraz’s richness, it can overpower food, so try to avoid seafood and chicken. Eat with red meat, steak, Shepherds pie roast meet and pasta dishes. Will age for many years in a bottle. So, if you can resist, keep it in a cellar.
