Tempranillo is a rich Spanish grape with plenty of colour. Tempranillo is usually part of a blend which can resemble Pinot Noir – fresh, sweet, smooth, scented and delicate. Grenache and Viogner are good blend varieties with Tempranillo, however, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are also successful blends. Tempranillo is a light drinking wine with relatively low alcohol levels, low acidity and tannins. Tempranillo grape varieties produce wines that are dry, scented and deeply coloured. You do not have to cellar this wine, enjoy it sooner rather than later with any type of medium done meat, salads and grilled vegetables.
