Awards. 4 stars, Winestate July/ August 2005, Rating 92 James Halliday
Winemaker's Notes. Grown on CW's Block, planted by Clarence Walter "Darkie" Liebich in 1969. The vines suffer dead arm affliction causing low yields of 1.1 ton per acre, which greatly intensifies the fruit flavours. The grapes were picked at 15.7° Baume.
Testing notes. Colour. Deep inky red in colour.
Testing notes. Nose Bouqet. This wine displays the full "dark" spectrum with blackberry, stewed cherry, mocha and vanilla aromas.
Testing notes. Taste Palate. The lusciously sweet jammy palate integrates perfectly with the oak. Silky and seductive. |
