Awards. 4 stars, Winestate May/June 2005.
Winemaker's Notes. Planted in 2000-01 on 1.5 acres of heavy red/black soils, the vines produced 3.5 tonnes per acre. It was the last fruit picked, in a relatively warm year at 14° Baume. Traditional hand plunging of the skins, basket pressing and non-filtration have achieved excellent colour and flavour extraction.
Testing notes. Colour. Dark red purple with a blue tinge.
Testing notes. Nose Bouqet. A fruit driven style with pronounced raspberry, mulberry and floral aromas.
Testing notes. Taste Palate. Ripe berries, subtle oak and mushroom flavours entwine with soft, fine tannins. Elegant and balanced. |
